OK, so I use Audacity but it is not without its issues (documented on that page). A Web-based alternative I came across is AudioMass. In the same forum thread, someone mentioned OpenDAW (OpenDAW Studio) and linked a talk by the creator:

Now, although André notes his use of “AI“ in the talk, I think that perhaps his ethos and mission make his limited use somewhat acceptable. I am not fully convinced, though.
